Protocol
- Crop: corn seed (sowing May 27/2024)
- 2 zones with similar floor, TEMOIN reel and LM reel (Irrig Power)
- 1 watering per week, 6 tensiometer probes at 30cm and 60cm depths
Observation
- Different spray pattern with LM water: water is "finer", falls less violently to the ground
- After watering, LM tensions fall faster and then rise less quickly
- LM voltages remain in the "water comfort" zone, TEMOIN voltages are more often in the "drying" zone (the higher the curve/voltage, the less water there is).
TEMOIN watered soil tension
30 cm probes (blue) and 60 cm probes (pink)
LM watered soil tension
30 cm probes (blue) and 60 cm probes (pink)
Conclusion
- LM water penetrates the soil faster and deeper
- Soil dries more slowly with LM water
- The crop stays hydrically comfortable longer with LM water.
→ Water savings are possible
